This site contains two types of accesskeys to help people with disability access our site easily. The Access Key helps user quickly go to a specific section on the page. The Shortcut Linking Key allow user to jump to a frequently use page or to complete a specific task.

Use of Accesskey in Different Browser

Accesskey is set up by using the number 0~9, A~Z, or any letter that is accepted by other browsers. User can navigate the site with accesskeys by following instructions set up in each browser. The use of Accesskey in the browser might be set up by using different key combination or sequence. The following example uses "Alt-X" to represent Accesskey "X", and you must change the setting to use Alt key as the default browser function key and follow the browser instructions on using accesskey. The same browser could have different accesskey and instruction on a computer with different operation system.

Firebox uses "Alt+Shift" key with an assigned key to complete the accesskey operation. For example, when you press "Alt+Shift+C", this will activate a link page assigned with the accesskey "C". Internet Explore also uses "Alt" key as a function key, but users must press the "Enter" key to activate a link and direct users to the page. For example, when you press "Alt+C", this will only take you to the link assigned with the accesskey "C", and by pressing the "Enter" key will then take you to the assigned page. Opera uses "Shift-ESC" with assigned accesskey to complete the accesskey operation. For example, when you press "Shift-ESC" and then press "C" key, this will activate a link page assigned with the accesskey "C".

Design of Access Key

Difference in layout design and needs affect the number of accesskeys designed on a site and not every site contain all accesskeys. For example, if a site does not have right menu area, there is no need to design the Alt-R accesskey. Some documents and organizations suggest the use of non-text key has conflicted with other groups¡¦ suggestions. Take in consideration that browser designers have their own ways of designing accesskey, it is not necessary to reserve letter key for the browser. Therefore, this site has designed its accesskey base on the intuition and convenience as the first priority.
